Moynihan Station

Description

Moynihan Station, an accessory to Penn Station constructed in the Farley Post Office building occupies the block across Eighth Avenue from the current Penn Station. It consist of a new train hall operating underneath two large glass skylights. Starting construction in 2017 Nicholson and Galloway was contracted to perform the following work:

  • Over 110,000 square feet of granite and terra cotta chemical cleaning
  • Over 11,000 square feet of terra cotta chemical cleaning
  • Replaced approximately 700 units of terra cotta
  • Over 98,000 square feet of brick chemical cleaning
  • Granite dutchman
  • 1,400 square feet of brick removals and rebuilding
  • Over 780 linear feet of granite ashlar stone removal
  • Over 82,000 square feet of brick pointing
  • 1,500 square feet of stucco repairs
