1780 Broadway

Description

1780 Broadway was designed by Chicago Architect Howard Van Doren Shaw and constructed in 1909 as the New York Headquarters for tire company B.F. Goodrich. It is an individual New York City Landmark and is now the home to Nordstrom’s Department Store. As part of the conversion to a department store, Nicholson & Galloway was contracted to perform the following work:

  • New 3 foot diameter granite columns and marble storefront
  • Limestone and granite repairs, replacement and repointing
  • 8,000 square feet of brick and limestone façade cleaning
  • 4,000 square feet of new brickwork
  • New 30 foot x 60 foot bronze and cast iron historic storefront
  • 68 new copper and mahogany Kalamein windows
