Grand Central Terminal

As New York City’s historic and iconic transportation hub, Grand Central Terminal displays beautiful interior finishes from Caen stone, barrel vaulted plaster ceiling, metals, glass, marble and terrazzo. These interior finishes have collected decades of dirt, dust and everyday ware. Nicholson & Galloway was contracted by Metro-North Railroad to complete an interior cleaning and restoration of approx. one third of the Terminal to perform the following restoration work:
- 21,815 square feet of Caen stone cleaning
- 25,150 square feet plaster repainting
- 8,200 square feet of metal and glass cleaning
- 1,000 square feet of adhesive removal from terrazzo and marble flooring
- 3,320 square feet of Botticino base stone cleaning
- 3 Caen stone replacement units
- 4 pieces of chicken wire glass replacement
