Description

Gracie Mansion, a federal style wooden home built in 1799, became the official residence of the New York City’s Major in 1942. As one of the oldest surviving buildings in Manhattan, Gracie Mansion underwent its third major restoration in 2015.

  • Four of the existing roofs were removed, repaired and replaced
  • New GAF shingle and 3 ply roof were completed at the main roof, Wagner Wing Roof and Historic House and Porch
  • A new ALT liquid membrane roof was installed at the Hyphen Mechanical Roof
  • Four brick chimneys were completed reconstructed at the main house and three were repointed at the Wagner Wing Roof
  • House gutters and cornice were replaced
  • All new lead coated copper flashing, trim, valleys and gutters liners installed
  • Skylight and roof hatches were completely replaced, and lighting protection installed
  • Wagner Wing decorative wood railings and finials were salvaged and restored and new railing on the porch, house and Hyphen Wing installed
