75th Street Private Residence

Description

Constructed in 1896 and designed by Trowbridge, Colt & Livingston Architects, this limestone NYC landmark is unusual due to its fifty foot width. After one hundred twenty years the façade was deteriorated and dirty and Nicholson and Galloway was hired to perform the following restoration work:

  • 3,000 square feet of limestone repointing
  • 70 pieces of new limestone
  • 3,000 square feet of water-mist cleaning
  • 1,000 square feet of poultice cleaning
  • 1,000 square feet of micro-abrasive cleaning
  • 2 chimneys dismantled, salvaged and reconstructed
  • 50 linear feet of new stamped copper cheneau
  • 50 linear feet of new copper cornice and gutter
  • 60 linear feet of new copper downspout
